We are seeking dedicated Specialist Teachers (ASC/MLD) to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Southampton area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering a specialist resourced provision, while also contributing to teaching within the mainstream setting.

You will be instrumental in designing an engaging and inclusive curriculum, supporting students with additional needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance SEND provision across the school.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Planning and delivering high-quality, adaptive lessons for students with ASC/MLD
• Designing and implementing an engaging curriculum within the resourced provision
• Supporting students to access the wider curriculum and develop key life skills
• Creating a structured, calm and nurturing learning environment
• Monitoring and assessing both academic and personal progress
• Supporting colleagues to develop inclusive teaching strategies
• Working collaboratively with SENCOs, external professionals and families
• Supporting transitions and contributing to the wider school community

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with SEND, particularly ASC and/or MLD
• Strong understanding of inclusive and adaptive teaching practices
• Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students
• Creative, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
