Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join a specialist school in Southampton.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs. The role would suit an experienced SEN teacher, an ECT or a teacher looking to develop their experience within a specialist setting.
You will take responsibility for the learning, progress and wellbeing of pupils within your class, creating a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment where every learner is supported to achieve their potential. The school provides strong induction, mentoring, training and professional development, making this an excellent opportunity for teachers at different stages of their careers.
Take responsibility for the learning, progress and achievement of pupils within your class
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
Use specialist SEND teaching approaches to engage and support learners
Assess, monitor and record pupil progress effectively
Set appropriate and challenging learning objectives
Develop pupils' independence, confidence and self-regulation
Create a calm, safe and stimulating classroom environment
Establish positive relationships based on mutual respect
Work closely with Learning Assistants and other support staff
Liaise with specialist professionals and implement recommendations within the classroom
Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external professionals
Contribute to the wider curriculum, pastoral life and ethos of the school
Support safeguarding and promote the welfare of all pupils
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable
Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching
Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Patient, nurturing and resilient approach
Ability to build strong and positive relationships with pupils
Strong communication and teamwork skills
High expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
