Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and resilient Fully Qualified Teacher (QTS) to join a specialist school in the Portsmouth area, supporting secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to secondary-aged pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Foster positive relationships and create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and associated challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families, and external agencies.
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Previous experience working within SEN, SEMH, alternative provision, or specialist educational settings.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A flexible, patient, and proactive approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of young people.
