We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in Thrapston, working with secondary-aged pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

The Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.
  • Support pupils with autism, ADHD and behavioural needs to access education successfully.
  • Develop positive relationships that encourage emotional regulation and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external agencies.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans.
  • Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, helping students build confidence and resilience.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
  • Knowledge of SEMH needs, autism, ADHD and behaviour management strategies.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a calm, patient approach.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
