Exciting Opportunity: Graduate Teaching Assistants
Are you a recent graduate passionate about education and eager to kickstart your career in teaching? Do you thrive in a vibrant school environment, keen to support students' learning and development? We have an exciting opportunity for Graduate Teaching Assistants to join an Ofsted good secondary school in Stockport on a full-time basis. This role will commence in September and continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and personal growth of students, working closely with experienced teachers to deliver high-quality education and enriching learning experiences. Your key responsibilities will include:
Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, supporting students' understanding of curriculum content, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work across various subjects and year groups, adapting your support to meet the diverse needs of students.
One-to-One and Small Group Tuition: Providing tailored support to students who require additional assistance with their learning, helping them to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. You will reinforce learning objectives, clarify concepts, and assist with homework and coursework as required.
Resource Preparation: Helping to prepare and organise learning materials, resources, and equipment to support effective teaching and independent study. You will ensure resources are accessible, relevant, and used efficiently to enhance student learning and engagement.
Behaviour Management: Implementing positive behaviour management strategies, promoting respectful and cooperative behaviour, and assisting in addressing any behavioural or pastoral concerns. You will work proactively to create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Assessment and Feedback: Assisting teachers in assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and monitoring academic achievements. You will contribute to the preparation and marking of assignments, exams, and coursework, helping to identify areas for improvement and celebrate student successes.
Collaboration and Communication: Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to foster a collaborative approach to education. You will communicate regularly with key stakeholders, sharing updates on student progress, discussing strategies for improvement, and providing feedback to inform teaching practice.
